I hate the ambush makeovers that are held every Friday on Today. First of all, the lady chosen is never a person of color. It's always the same type of contestants. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but a little sugar and spice to liven things up would be nice. Second, the two idiots in charge of picking the two people always want to cut the hair. What's wrong with long hair? If there are so many advertisements from beauty salons that promise to give a woman fuller, longer hair, why are these two jackasses going to do a diservice to these poor women and cut their hair? It doesn't make sense. It's like they won't listen to a woman if she says don't cut. They're going to do it anyway. As they said, the hair always grows back. I don't care. You can work with a person with long hair to make it look fabulous rather than chop it off completely.

I think a lot of "entertainment" that goes on during news format shows is ridiculous. It's anything for ratings and they'll do whatever will be most popular for the ratings. They spend 5 minutes going over headlines, but will devote 15 minutes to a make over, 10 minutes on new recipes, 15 minutes on somebody's new movie, but maybe a 3 minute slot on health information or problems with the economy. Things other than hard and serious news are nice and can be informative, but there's no need for frivolous silly stuff that truly insults our intelligence, distracts us from realistic thinking, sways us to what they say is important news and information, makes silly things a priority over the real news, and puts ratings before anything and everything else.
