come on G, what kind of training would be suitable for me?

my parents can't understand that writing is all I do. I mean, I sit at the computer and do it, and it's that part they don't like. I guess if I had a degree and writing at the computer was part of my job they'd get it. But I have no degree, I'm just doing it 'cause it comes natural and I think that's what I was put on this earth to do. But it just can't sink into their heads. They're so normal, so they think normal. Just as they can't understand me taking meds every day, they can't understand my need to write, sans the degree. My mom just says, "I hope it's something positive you're writing." Oh mom, if you only knew. But I have to write what I feel and know. I can't write about being happy and jolly if it's a way I've never been before, right? Hi, city bus driver who wanted to molest me when I was 11. If you're still alive and not in jail, I'll date you. I'm 32 now. Too old? Younger than you are now! How old are you? Yesterday my dad was encouraging me to tell him the reason why I needed the meds, but I wouldn't tell him. He was like, "I'm pop, you can tell me anything." Later, I was walking outside by myself (always by myself), and was like to God, yeah, I wish I could openly talk to my dad, but because he was such a hard-ass when my brother and I were growing up, I can't easily let my feelings flow to him. And man, I really want to be able to really talk to him before he dies. I really thought Tim Russert's dad was going to die before he did, but sometimes it's the other way around. I wonder how Big Russ is doing. I still can't believe Tim is gone. This upcoming election will be lost without him.

Maybe your mom would just like seeing you do some other things besides just writing.  I would hate to think that she would want you to stop completely because you do enjoy it, you are good at it, and it is a good thing to do.  Sure, your father wants to know because he feels he wants to help you or understand why some things are the way they are, but the reason why you take your meds is really between you and who prescribes them, so you don't have to discuss them with him if you don't want to.  Besides, the real reasons are medical, so to explain them completely you would have to know all the medical, chemical, anatomical, psychological reasons, benefits, effects, and results, so maybe you really shouldn't try to explain them anyway because you are not a doctor.  And, about Tim Russert, the upcoming election season sure is going to be different without him and for a sad reason.  Anyway, you keep on writing.  If you think your mom may have some point, you could try to modify your time a bit or stick to a bit of a schedule so that writing occurs during your "writing hours", but don't stop writing.
