the big runt

May 6, 2008 / by lilscrappy

In the back of my apartment, the female cat gave birth to a litter a month ago. I was taking the garbage out recently and heard tiny mouths open with sound and went to investigate. I found the kitties behind an old car my super is fixing up. Mama was inside too, nursing them. The super was supposed to bring them to the shelter but I came back Monday from my folk's and they were still there. He gave me a deep box to put the kittens in, but if he keeps on putting it off they're all going to outgrow the box. There's a runt there, very determined but smaller than the rest of the litter. The runt reminds me of myself. Out of the whole family, I'm the severly disabled one. If I can't work I'm severly disabled. I want to give up, but God is holding me by the skin of my neck refusing to let me go. If I'm put up for adoption, people will look at my size compared to everyone else that's healthy and refuse me. I'm then left to die a lonely death. I should take the runt in, but I think without a sibling with it or mama indeed, it will surely die. We can't be alone. We need love. We need tenderness. We need loving homes. My mom is planning a vacation she and my dad are going on and I'm not invited. It's a private affair. I need someone to invite me to go somewhere with him. Let's play, let's get close. Be my BFF and ever.

A kitten would be a great pet!  It wouldn't be all alone because it would have you for company, so you could be company for each other!  Maybe you can take two kittens?  If so, then great.  If not, then taking the one you like will still be a good thing.  If anybody else takes them, they'll probably end up separated anyway...so you might as well have one for yourself.

That's too bad.  Well, I hope good homes are found for them.

well, I checked on them this morning and three of them escaped. Three remain in the bin. I'm so sad now that the three that escaped will be afraid of people for life. I should've taken them to the shelter myself.
