the subject less discussed

Standup2cancer? What about stand up to mental illness? It's affecting so many and many are dying. I'm not belittling cancer in any way but it seems so much attention is put on other diseases rather than other things that should matter a whole lot in everbody's lives. What were the statistics? Like, 54 million Americans are or were at some point in their life diagnosed with a mental illness? That meant as they said, that it's personal, like everybody should know somebody who has or is suffering. Yet, if that's the case, it's being kept so hush hush like, "shhh...don't tell anybody but Shelly's depressed" or the biggie, even worse, what nobody wants to hear 'cause they won't be able to relate or simply won't care, "Shannon has schizophrenia." I hate this world. I so want off of it. I don't watch the celebrity entertainment shows anymore. If these stalkers and gawkers could put their energy into something more beneficial for EVERYONE, more emphasis on a subject rarely touched at all, something maybe I for once can relate to, well man, I'd be like, FINALLY! So happy I could come forward and say "I suffer too" and not be ridiculed. But right now there's nobody for me to really feel comfortable talking to and even worse, I don't know what I have. More should be done about awareness of mental diseases, and even though bipolar and depression are two of the most talked about ones, they should cover others. Monk has OCD down to a science. I mean, didn't he win an award or something a couple years ago? Everyone should know Howie Mandel has it. But schizophrenia? That is like a no no, a hands off subject to discuss. God, look yesterday I was so depressed. I wrote like, my fourth suicide letter? What, you laugh when I write these? I want to be with Jeff in the end but you make things so hard for me. Okay, you don't listen. I don't know what else to do. One thing is true. I am never getting off this planet, thanks to YOU.

Which is exactly why I tell you that your letters...letters/posts like this one...should be shared with the outside world.  Even if it means having to send it to everybody that seems to make a difference in today's strange world...those celebrity people that others are eager to listen to and follow.

I know you don't want the world to stop looking at other problems and sicknesses because no one should have to suffer if it can be avoided, cured, or eased.  But, you want equal attention given to the problems and illnesses that seem to be "forgotten" or kept from public discussion and concern, such as your illness.  And, I don't blame you for that.
