the trouble with N.J., another crazy law

March 27, 2008 / by lilscrappy

In NJ, they want to give like decals to teenage drivers so everyone behind them who's driving knows they're young and somewhat inexperienced behind the wheel. I think that's discrimination. If they want to do that then they should give decals to senior citizens because they start to lose it at a certain age and like, always cause accidents and drive themselves into rivers, step on the gas when they think they've stepped on the brake. After these incidents we just shrug and say, "they're old," like have so much compassion for them. Give me a break. If you do for one, you've got to do for the other. Also with that bill they want to pass, they want to make it against the law for someone riding in the backseat without a seat belt. When I'm riding shotgun, I always put it on. Well, sometimes. It depends on who I'm riding with. If they don't care, neither do I. When I'm in the back, I don't put one on 'cause I feel I don't need to. I've got two big seats in front of me to protect me. I only put my seat belt on when my dad's driving is a little crazy and my mom is complaining. He traded his Nissan for a big pick-up with a Hemi engine and boy does he like to let her rip when we go from our neighborhood streets to the main road. Fuck, I hope I'm dead when that bill becomes law 'cause it's like they want everyone to suffer. It should be my decision if I don't care to wear a seat belt, not anybody else's.

I don't think decals is such a bad idea. People start driving way too young in this country. Let's be real a 15 year-old does not have the experience. If I know it's a kid by the wheel I can be more caucious which is for my safely and for his/hers as well. If we look at it this way it is NOT disctimination.

I had a chance to read the story in the APP and what surprised me was that there were some teens that were for it. I don't know, I'd think an adult riding behind a teen that knew it was a teen would all of a sudden start to make assumptions about the teen's driving which probably aren't true.
